About the Canmore Camera Club The Canmore Camera Club was founded in 2003, and registered as a non-profit organization under the Alberta Societies Act in 2006. It has established a small, stable group of keen phootgraphers during this time. The club is based on a universal love of photography in all of its forms. We have members of all ages and experience levels from novice to master, and our tools include both film and digital. We ecourage anyone interested in photography to visit one of our meetings and to join the club. For more details about the club, click on the tabs under "Home" above. One of the most important aspects of the club is community outreach and education, particularly aimed at youth and new photographers. The long term aim of the club is to become more autonomous in being able to take workshops and other instructional activities to any place, and not be limited by the facilities at the venue. Increase in the number of members of the Club and interest in participating in workshops is dependent on keeping up to date with technological changes in photography. For the past two years the club has participated in artsPeak, a weekend festival of the arts in Canmore by hosting a photography contest and exhibition for the community (artLens); the weekend includes an exhibition of the images of winners and runners up for the public to view. The past two years, the club offered free introduction to digital photography workshops which attracted at least 30 participants, many of whom expressed interest in attending future workshops. Our intent is to continue hosting the photography contest and exhibition and to hold workshops for the community during artsPeak and on demand at other times of the year. Winners of the photography contest are shown on our artLens page. For the best viewing experience, we recommend that you use the following settings for your computer and browser:
